This Week’s Top Instagram Posts from the #AppalachianTrail

Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most spectacularly beautiful, hilariously entertaining, and all-around best photos taken on the Appalachian Trail this past week.

This week features photos taken from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1 and were found by perusing the hashtag #TrektheAT. A thorough point-based grading system is used to pluck out the very best for your viewing pleasure. Dog photos are always favored.

Day 161 ? The trail acts as an equalizer = No one out here is better than anyone else. We’re all walking the same path and facing the same (if not similar) challenges. It doesn’t matter if you’re a fast hiker or you take a million zeros or you don’t have the best gear. We all (hopefully) end up at the same place. Sometimes I don’t even know someone’s real name or what career they had before coming out here. If they have a car, a house or any fancy possessions. What we have in common is right in front of us. This 2,190 mile journey that leaves us all feeling strangely connected. I’m worried about going back to the “real world” where our differences are highlighted and circled a hundred times. Where we can’t seem to connect because we think we’re better or our life has more meaning than someone else’s. There’s endless love and support in the trail community, which seems to only give light to the equilibrium ?
