Hello world! Im Carl Stanfield, an open-book adventurer looking for my place in life. I spent my childhood in East Tennessee before moving just over the state line to Brevard College in Western North Carolina where I double majored in Music and Wilderness Leadership & Experiential Education. From there, I set out across the country to attempt life in Leavenworth Washington where I worked at a camp and retreat center for 2 and a half years. In December of 2017, the stars aligned to tell me that that was no longer my path. Granted the most freedom Id ever experienced, I decided to take advantage of it and throw all of my efforts into putting together a 2018 thru hike of the AT! I have no idea what lies ahead of me at the end of the trail, and I like it that way. I love banjo music, highly complicated strategy games, college sports, open-mindedness, beer, and avocados.
