While it may not be thru-hiking season, there are still some lucky people out on the #PacificCrestTrail! Unfortunately, if you are reading this, you’re probably not one of those few people making the trek. But that means that hopefully you’re preparing to take it on later this hiking season!

I love being a part of the thru hiking community, even while backpacking thousands of miles from the trail. I was at Fitz Roy yesterday and someone saw my ZPacks backpack from far away and yelled "Hey hikertrash! What trail did you do?!" We greeted eachother with the customary fist bump and he pointed to his AT patch and I pointed to my PCT patch and we shared a couple quick trail stories and lamented how our thru hikes has ruined us in the best way possible. I have to go back to this place. Stehekin is only accessible by float plane, ferry, or by foot. There isn't much there besides a Post Office, a general store, a restaurant, and an inn. It is such a peaceful and beautiful place. I could use that right now. EDIT: There is also a bakery. The most WONDERFUL bakery in all the land ?

Friends, I have some overdue long winded life updates about the PCT and finding a new place to live:: . . I finally published some concluding thoughts on the Pacific Crest Trail ? – sorry it took me so long to write, words don't feel like they do enough. . . I broke it into 2 parts, part 1 is my final thoughts and part 2 covers life after the trail and some plans for the future which leads me to the next update: . .
