The Trek Bloggers

The following awesome people are the official bloggers of the The Trek.   In other words, they’re the renegade trail-folk who will be blogging their thru-hikes right here on theTrek.co.  Their job is to be adventurous and share their experiences in vivid detail.  Our job is to live vicariously and envy their existence.

Alex Wnorowski

I’m Alex and am definitely a person of extremes. By trade, I’m a cook. For a long time that was the only thing I defined myself as. I was not balanced. I decided to step away from the kitchen and hike the Appalachian Trail. I did, returned to a five star kitchen, quit again, and now am preparing to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. I love to cook badass food and to do crazy things like take walks across the country. I’m not sure where life is headed but for now, North will do.

Phoebe

I'm Phoebe, or Pheebs, whatever floats your boat. I am best described as a flying squirrel. I'm a born & bred Tennessean, hiking the AT (flip floppin'!) in 2019 with my boyfriend Isaac. I graduated from the University of Tennessee *GO VOLS* in 2017 with a BS in environmental & soil sciences and a minor in plant science. I love to be outside and Isaac & I get really really excited about plants.

Tasia (StinkyCheez)

I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail northbound in 2017, and caught a really debilitating bug for long distance hiking. Pacific Crest Trail attempt starts March, 2019.

the world has come full circle.
A#holes are even apparently through hikers now. A#holes are everywhere bust surprised to seem the on the AT.
We had a simple But big back pack into ethan pond this weekend. Big because we brought everything for an easy trip and can sort through what gear we haven’t used since last year, what is useless, what is usefull, etc for bigger hikes over the summer. A smart thing to do before an important backpack.
One of the kids, (everyone carrying big packs including seasoned 13 year olds., and NOT beginners by any stretch) got sick, so we stopped at Zealand hut.
We were laughed at by a group going through (supposedly) from Georgia and, oooh, new jersey).

Don’t judge anyone by what they are wearing or carrying every time.
Mass#holes are everywhere, and being new hapmshire natives, we are used to inexperienced tourists.

But I expected better from Thru-hikers.
I am guessing many claim to be but are not.
