I like to do cool stuff in the woods and tell stories about it. I crave long adventures (affectionately known as "sufferfests") and any excuse to eat jars of peanut butter. I am most comfortable when I'm sweating or shivering or scaring the hell out of myself on sketchy mountain bike descents. I prefer to walk/bike/travel uphill rather than down. In March 2015, I'm stepping away from my beautiful life in Asheville, NC to pursue a dream hatched twenty some years ago as a kid at summer camp - a northbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
