The Badger Sponsorship

The Badger Sponsorship.  It’s for the sort of person who likes a boat load of free gear, food, books, emotional support and more.  It’s a fun way to share with the world why you’re hiking the trail.  It’s held every year, and we’ll be announcing how you can get involved sometime this winter (read: soon).

Next year’s Badger Sponsorship is going to be the biggest giveaway to-date: 2017 thru-hikers, you don’t want to miss this.  It’s open to anyone attempting a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, or Continental Divide Trail.

Details on how you can enter will first be announced through our Newsletter. You can join below.

I am planning to hike the entire AT NOBO starting in late april, I’ve been doing quite a bit of homework too. I have most of my gear already thanks to a 10 year career with the army, just trying to get my finances in order so, any advice??

Hi Zach! I am wondering if there will be a 2017 Badger Sponsorship? I will be thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in March, and could use some extra support. I’ve got mental support covered, as I’m working my way through your book!

Hello! I thru-hiker the PCT in 2016 and looking to do the same for the AT in 2018. I met a hiker on trail who had a sponsorship for being Hispanic in the wilderness. I’m Latino and LGBT – neither of which you see much of on a thru-hiker. Any advice on any organizations I can speak with regarding some financial help for the upcoming hike? Many thanks!

Hello, I am a Ed Williams, 38 year old male. I have been in an interracial marriage fo 18 years to my wonderful wife Amanda. We have 3 children ages 14, 15, and 16. Currently, we are living in the Marshall Islands where my wife and I have been teaching at the College of the Marshall Islands for the past 18 months. Our contracts expire in June and we are planning a return trip back home to New England where we will be hike SoBo as a family.

We are a very adventures family. We earned degrees in North Dakota, studied abroad in Mexico and Guatemala. As well as spending 8 years in Savannah, GA before venturing off to our current adventure in the Marshall Islands.

Our family is adventurous. We are here in the Marshall Islands for that purpose. Our next adventure is a return home after 15 years away but first we want to complete the trail as a family.

Curious to know if there are sponsors available to assist in funding our trip as we would love to keep a blog and post about our journey on social media platforms as we are active. Our youngest son even has an active vlog on YouTube.

If possible, please provide any and all information that maybe of assistance.

    Thank you!
