I spent most of my 20's in college, acquiring two degrees, pursuing a career I thought would be fulfilling, dating a guy I thought I wanted to marry, and paying a mortgage on a house I thought I needed. Everything changed in the spring of 2015, when I graduated college, ended the relationship, sold the house, and set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. I came home an entirely different person than I was when I left - one who would rather live out of a backpack than in a house, who doesn't mind forgoing showers for days, a person who isn't afraid of hitchhiking or doing things alone. Now, with two Appalachian Trail thru-hike attempts under my belt and a head full of adventures in waiting, I spend most of my time going on, writing about, or dreaming up backpacking trips. I live in a 16 foot travel trailer and will soon be going to nursing school to get yet another degree - one I hope I will use this time.
